What to expect
Which PDFs convert well
The converter reads your PDF's text and rebuilds it as Word paragraphs. How well that works depends on the layout.
Letters, reports, and contracts
Converts wellSingle-column text converts into ordinary Word paragraphs you can edit straight away.
Two-column layouts
Needs cleanupNewsletters and papers come out with the columns interleaved, because there's no column detection.
Tables
Needs cleanupYou get the text in reading order, as separate lines. Rebuild the table in Word.
Scanned pages
Not editableInserted as pictures you can see and print, not text you can edit. There's no OCR.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Will the Word document look exactly like the PDF?
No — and that's deliberate. This tool reflows your PDF's text into normal, editable Word paragraphs rather than pinning every line to its original pixel position. That trade-off is what makes the result actually editable in Word, instead of a page of uneditable textboxes glued to their original coordinates.
What happens to multi-column layouts?
Text is read top-to-bottom, then left-to-right, without column detection. A two-column PDF (like some newsletters or academic papers) will interleave the columns in the output. Single-column documents convert cleanly.
Is there a page limit?
Yes. The tool converts PDFs of up to 500 pages, and up to 150 pages that have no extractable text (those are inserted as pictures, which takes much more memory). Larger files are refused with a message rather than left half-converted.
Are tables preserved as tables?
No. Table-like content comes out as separate lines of text in reading order, not as a Word table. You'll get the text, but you'll need to rebuild the table structure yourself.
What about scanned PDFs or pages that are just images?
A page with no extractable text is inserted into the Word document as a picture, not as text — you can see it and print it, but you can't edit or select its words. This tool doesn't perform OCR.
Are images on regular text pages carried over too?
Not in this version — only the text on those pages converts. Pages that are entirely image (no text at all) are inserted as pictures; images sitting alongside text on an otherwise-text page aren't currently extracted.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The entire conversion — reading the PDF, reconstructing the document, and building the .docx file — happens in your browser. Your file is never sent to a server.
