How it works
Merging, step by step
Add two or more PDFs
Pick them together, or add more later.
Put them in order
Drag them, or use each file's up and down buttons. The merged file follows that order: all of the first file's pages, then all of the second's.
Merge and download
Select Merge PDFs, then save the result as
merged.pdf.
The result
What carries over
Pages, exactly as they were
Carried overText stays selectable, and images, fonts, and page sizes are unchanged. Files with different page sizes can be combined.
Bookmarks, form fields, and titles
Not carried overThese belong to each original file rather than to its pages, so they aren't carried into the merged file.
Merged file too big to upload or email? Run it through the PDF compressor afterwards.
Limits
Before you start
- File size
- Up to 100 MB per PDF.
- Number of files
- No fixed limit. All files are held in your device's memory while merging, so very large sets need enough free memory.
- Passwords
- Password-protected PDFs can't be merged. Remove the password first.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How many PDFs can I merge at once?
There's no fixed limit built into the tool — you can add as many files as your device can comfortably handle. Very large batches may take longer since everything processes on your device.
Can I control the order the files merge in?
Yes — drag files to reorder them, or use the up/down arrows on each file. The final PDF's pages follow that exact order, one file's pages after another.
Are my files uploaded to merge them?
No. Merging happens entirely in your browser using the same local processing as the rest of the site — your files are never sent to a server.
Does merging change the content of my PDFs?
The pages themselves don't change: text, images, and formatting are copied as they were. What doesn't carry over is file-level data that isn't part of any page, such as bookmarks, fillable form fields, and each original's document title.
